Wrath of the Marken

Fear the Marken! Remember the awesome power of the Marken you could meticulously unlock in The Marken Saga? All the painstaking feeding, dashing about to land deathblows... All so that you could unleash Great Justice onto you enemies. Now, what if, just what if, you had to fight against Marken?

Presenting, the Christmas special TMS-related multiplayer map, Wrath of the Marken! (Cool name :D)

In the Wrath of the Marken I indulged my fortress building abilities and snowy mountain crafting, to create a epic battle arena for your probable doom. You are up against Marken after all.

So here's what it's all about: In your amazingly well-designed keep, complete with multiple defensive perimeters all with moats and the ever-important set of villages to keep you sustained right in the middle of it all. And of course, Marken's target, right in the middle, which you have to protect from him. If you fail, don't blame the facilities. I did all I could. Blame...

Marken!

Have you ever managed to get a Marken5 in the limited time available in the 9 scenarios of TMS? If yes, you should have a feel of the powar of Marken! Now, just multiply that by 3.14 several times, (That's actually a multiplier for all of the Marken units stats.) and you have your opponent in Wrath of the Marken. Marken starts at the opposite end of the map from you, but don't be surprised if he whacks you on the first turn. Think LCM in The JY in the Caves. Not all of you will know what that means, so don't worry if you don't. He will charge straight up against your first defensive perimeter which you should have lined with good line holding units. However, the slight problem is that it is the first turn, and during my tests Marken charged straight for his target and ohkoed it.

So I gave him a handicap of a 3-turn late start. Sorry Marken! So learn from your above mistake, and get some stuff to fill up my great castle design asap. So back to Marken's charge--

Hmm. I think it's better for you to experience Marken for yourself! So I shall give you one last hint: Marken's only weakness is probably his lack of a skirmisher ability (You wouldn't last 2 turns after he starts if he had it.) and the fact that he can only make 1 kill a turn. So an additional challenge is to maintain a defensive line against Marken with only the limited villages inside your keep, and those outside, if you can capture them without Marken noticing. (It's not under my control, just keep your fingers crossed for the AI quirks.) One last thing, it's a survival map, so don't actually try to kill Marken. You might succeed. (Eheheh.)

It will be released tomorrow!

It's the 4th of December!

Which is also Marken's birthday! Happy Birthday Marken! And not just that, this period also happens to be a hotspot for December birthdays! Yesterday was Chang Cheng's, and I just managed to miss it. Well, 1 day isn't a too long a time, and practically speaking he'll probably never see this either. Anyway back to birthdays, also right infront of us is Bryan's birthday, on Sunday! Don't worry Bryan, there'll be a post on yours too! Soon after that lies Richard's birthday! Yay!

And erm, I'm sure there are a lot more birthdays significant to you ppl in this period, but I just happen to not know about them. Well, that doesn't matter, because every day is a day of blessing from the great JY above all, just go and do whatever that you happen to do anytime!

In other news, (Wahaha I'm koping space from Marken's birthday greeting F3) the Wilbert Saga parts 9(II) and 10 are out, reverting from digital form to traditional paper due to hardware constraints D:. It also just happens to be that these hardware constraints also include the lack of a scanner, so... It might be a while before you see them.

But fortunately, there is also something digital out now, and that's the Marken Saga! Wllts! It would be a great lie to say that I've been working on it lately though, but... TMS Version 2.8 is out now! (Ignore the huge jump. It all happened during the Great Hiatus.) Get it at this link: this link.
